1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SafeBite, provided by Redsprint Ltd ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using SafeBite, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. No Account, No Personal Details

SafeBite does not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any similar personal detail. When you first use the app, SafeBite signs you in anonymously using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). This gives your device a random, pseudonymous identifier (an anonymous user id) so that your scans can be processed and associated with your device. It is not tied to your real identity.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above only to provide and improve SafeBite: to analyse your scans and return food recommendations, to operate anonymous sign-in, to diagnose problems, and to understand general usage. We do not use your photos or restrictions to identify you.

7. No Advertising or Tracking

SafeBite contains no advertising, no third-party advertising SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Scan images and their analysis are stored on our servers under your anonymous user id so the service can function and be maintained. Your profiles and restrictions remain on your device and are removed if you delete the app. You can ask us to delete the server-side scan data associated with your anonymous id by contacting us at the address below.

9. Permissions

SafeBite requests access to your Camera and Photo Library for one reason only: so you can capture or select the images you want to scan. The app does not access your photos for any other purpose.

10. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted communication with our backend, to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

SafeBite is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we encourage you to review it periodically.
